Make their birthday easy, memorable, and full of discovery. The Tech Interactive’s birthday party packages include all-day museum admission, a semi-private party area, tables, chairs, tablecloths, and a hands-on lab activity led by a dedicated instructor. Kids can make slime, engineer candy structures, create fizzy bath bombs, or build roller coasters, while caregivers enjoy a celebration that feels special without being stressful (we'll do the clean up!). Weekend parties are available at 10:30 a.m. or 1 p.m., with convenient validated parking nearby.

Why Parents Love Parties at The Tech
Birthday parties at The Tech Interactive are designed to be fun for kids and easy for busy caregivers. A Birthday Host helps with setup, and tables, chairs are included, so there is less to plan, pack, and manage. Families may bring outside food and cake for an additional fee, and refrigerator and freezer space are available to keep treats party-ready. Best of all, there is no post-party cleanup waiting at home. The Tech handles the mess, so families can enjoy the celebration, explore hands-on science together, and head home happy. Guests can also receive validated weekend parking at nearby garages.

- Slime-a-Palooza Ages 7+ We know kids love making slime and parents love it when they don’t do it at home! We’ll teach your slime-loving kids all about the properties of polymers while they create the stretchy, squishy slime!
- Fizzy Fun Factory Ages 7+ Mad scientists will love learning all about chemical reactions while making fizzy fun bath bombs.
- Candy Quake Construction Ages 5+ Get ready for the ultimate candy construction challenge! Use tasty treats to build a sweet new home for your gummy bear guests—then put it to the test with a wobbly, jiggly "earthquake"! Will your candy creation stand strong or crumble in the shake zone? Perfect for curious kids with a sweet tooth and big imagination.

The fine print
Private rooms may be available for an additional cost. Please check availability when booking.
Payment policy
Balance is due two weeks prior to your reservation date. You will automatically be charged for the full amount two weeks before the event. We will charge the same credit card used at the checkout unless otherwise noted at booking.
Cancellation policy
To cancel your event, please contact the Group Reservations Department, groupreservations@thetech.org. Any cancellations two weeks prior to the event will result in a $250 cancellation fee. If the event cancels within two weeks of the event after full payment has been made, no refunds will be given.

- How do I book a party at The Tech Interactive? Reserve Now If you need some assistance, or have any questions, please reach out to Group Reservations via email: groupreservations@thetech.org or phone: 408-294-8324 Our team of party experts will work with you to plan the perfect party! The final balance will be due two weeks prior to your event. Final headcounts are also due two weeks prior, but if there are significant changes, you can contact us and we’ll do our best to accommodate. Please note that birthday party packages are only available on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Do I have to be a member to book a birthday party at The Tech Interactive? No. Members receive a 10% discount, but parties are available to all.
- How many guests are included? The base party package of $600 includes 10 children (the birthday child and 9 child guests) and up to 12 free adults (2 free adults for the birthday child and 1 free adult per child guest). Additional children are $30 and additional adults are $10. Lab spaces have a 25 person maximum.
- Is there a Party Host? The Tech Interactive’s Birthday Party Packages include a dedicated lab instructor for your hands-on experience and a Birthday Host to assist you with any questions the day of the party.
- How far out do I need to book? Our calendar fills up quickly! All birthday party packages must be reserved 3 weeks in advance.
- When does the balance and final head count need to be paid? The final balance and final headcount must be paid two weeks prior to the date of your event party. We understand headcounts can shift last minute, so please reach out if there are significant changes and we will do our best to accommodate.
- Is there food included in the package? Food is not included in the package so you can bring outside food including pizza & cake! There is also a cafe and concession stand on site.
- Do you have a refrigerator to store a cake? Yes, a fridge and freezer are available. We are happy to store your items and then retrieve them for you as needed.
- What supplies do I need to bring? The Tech Interactive will provide tables, chairs, and tablecloths. You will need to bring napkins, plates, utensils, a cake knife, candles, lighter/matches and room decorations. Decorations may not be affixed to walls or ceilings.
- Where can we unload our supplies and park? You can unload in front of our main entrance at the corner of South Market St. We can provide a cart and assist with your load-in. You can park at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center (150 W. San Carlos St.) or the 2nd and San Carlos St. Garage (288 S. 2nd St.) where The Tech Interactive provides validation, only available on weekends, making the cost $5.
